Roomba!

No, I am not talking about some sort of exotic Latin dance. I am talking about the iRobot Roomba and it is OURS. It is freakin' cool. The fact that we live in the country with wall-to-wall carpeting has made me OCD when it comes to vacuuming. The Roomba not only vacuums but, according to the letter enclosed in the packaging, we have joined "a growing group of people around the globe who, like you, are discovering a smarter way to clean." Did ya read that? We are part of a group of extra special neurotic cleaning freaks from around the world!!

As the in-laws were in town, we did an excessive amount of shopping this weekend. We had been wandering around Target for over an hour when there it was - the Roomba! On sale for 65% off. It. Was. Meant. To. Be. Include the fact that the hubby was stoned on pain pills and the Roomba was in our cart in less than 2 minutes. Once home, we charged it up and let it go.

Roomba follows this whimsical pattern - starting first in concentric circles and then doing long sweeps across the floor. If the Roomba encounters an obstacle, it stops, backs up, re-angles and tries again. Through this little pattern, the Roomba successfully navigates around chairs, baby toys, feet, walls and other random stuff. We also believe the Roomba is sending information back to China or some alien ship. The dog, six-month old daughter, in-laws, hubby and myself watched the dang thing for about an hour. And yes, the thing actually picks up dirt. Okay, perhaps it doesn't do as good of a job as my Hoover but I was pleased to see its cup full of nasty nasty.

ROOMBA ON!

I love Roomba! My friend Angie in St. Louis has one and she sets it to do the whole house every day while she's at work. She has two dogs and two cats, so imagine what THAT cup looks like. How'd Dillon do with it?

Have you seen that cat on a Roomba video on YouTube? I could watch that for hours. I need a cat. And a Roomba.

OMG. Hubby G actually went on and on about the Roomba last night at dinner. Miss B wants one now, too, though she thinks the dogs will eat it. Also, flowers = perfect.
