Life the past few months has been hard. Challenging. Sucky. Different.
But today is a happy day.
We have a new president. We have a new president with a new vision for our country and its role in the world. We have a new president who believes in the power of people and community to solve problems. We have a new president who talks about the challenges ahead but will continue to inspire. I watched the entire inauguration yesterday and cried a lot. Today I woke up and just felt good. Happy.
Our dear friends will soon be bringing a happy, healthy baby into the world. And "it" will be a girl. Playmate for Sunshine. Parent-friends to fend off dirty boys and help our girls be empowered, badass, passionate women. Happy.

Also, sugardoll, I will TOTALLY do a 10K with you. Give me until late May/early June to really be ready, but I'm in. Hell, I might even be talked into the Bolder Boulder...
Who says Emma needs help fending off "dirty boys." She seemed to fend for herself pretty well when she poked Little Dude in the eye :)Plus, not all boys are dirty - look at Torres Jr. :) Seriously, though, you are right - today is a HAPPY day!
Wade - no, not all boys are dirty. but that doesn't mean that Sunshine and BabySwann shouldn't enroll in some martial arts classes. They will be smokin'! Sorry about Wade's eye, btw.
