The power of focus

You know what? It is amazing what you can get done in a day when you genuinely focus. When I purposefully shut out the distractions from the world, I am amazed by what I can get done.

Yesterday, I had the day off and sailed through a growing list of personal 'to-dos' with optimal efficiency. It kinda freaked me out. I mean. I responded to requests my mother made, went shopping, took the dogs to the vet ($400 bill, gulp!) and worked on my fitness. What's up?

Is the constant bombardment of information from television, radio and Internet fundamentally affecting our productivity? If we all weren't constantly online or buzzing around with the television and radio on, what could we accomplish? In the pursuit of information, have we lost focus and creativity and....quality? If we tuned out and truly focused, would we not only be more productive but also happier?

Way to go, LadyG! Nothing makes me feel better about myself than getting a whole list of things done. That being said, I would die without internet, radio, and tv.
