I am psyched! I now have a new cell phone, hands-free set and warranty. The cost: $11.49. It is amazing what can happen when you return the efforts of a salesperson with positivity and warmth. Granted, it is a not a spiffy phone with a camera or anything, but it is pink and actually works!
The dude who helped me was dealing with a very annoying, thoughtless woman when I entered the store. She was just barking questions at him. He was running all over the place, showing her phones, talking through plans. She wasn't even looking at him. She then said "Okay" and walked away. Hello?! This person is a human being. No "thanks for your help"?!
When the guy turned to me to ask how he could help me, I made eye contact and actually smiled. I told him what I was looking for. We chatted. He pulled out an entirely new set of phones for me. He ran the numbers, threw the deals and VIOLA! I have a new phone and a new friend at Radio Shack.
Guess what?! Now when you call me I might actually be able to have a conversation rather than just hear your delightful voice but not be able to talk. Miracle!
