Cha-cha-cha

Tonight is the season premier of many fall favorites. However, I will be glued to the television for my personal favorite: Dancing with the Stars. Oh yes! Dance on, my friends!

I discovered this show because I can actually watch ABC at my house. We are a household without cable or DishTV, leaving us at the mercy of the bunny ears. During my first winter living in a rural-world, I went through a bout of the blues and it was Dancing that got me through the cold, dark winter (okay, knitting, reading lots of books, cooking and seeking the support of friends also really helped a lot too). I am now a loyal fan and will be watching the three-night premier of the new season!

As with all of the other seasons, the contestants remain a group of washed-up stars. Mark Cuban?! Who the hell is that? Josie Maran?! Huh? But there is also Jennie Garth (what's up, 90210?), Jane Seymour (okay! I confess! I used to watch Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman) and Mr Las Vegas, Wayne Newton. And Scary Spice! AKA Melanie Brown is joining the group. I can't wait to see them hit the floor with their sultry, effeminate partners. However, this year it is time for the ladies to bring home the trophy! Grrr..

And while you are probably snickering because I am so lame for loving this show, in a world full of too much sex and violence and way too much drama, this show is a relief. Its dancing! Its people engaged in teamwork and partnership to learn new skills. There is physical activity that that is not fucking or swimming to the island through a school of sharks. There is creativity that does not involve how person A is going to manipulate person B or make person A fall in love with you. Pah. I am talking about down-home quality!

Okay. More updates to come....!!!

Dude. I love the dancing shows. I much prefer 'So You Think You Can Dance' to 'Dancing with the Stars,' but they're both awesome.

I concur with Triskit... So You Think You Can Dance is like a talented and attractive version of American Idol. Also Paula Abdul is not on it, which is awesome. P.S. My dish dude is coming Wednesday... just in time for the Grey's season premiere! Who's excited!
